Family-owned and operated since 1962, Heartland Pella holds a passion, a tradition, and a promise to proudly serve our region.

The company was founded in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, in 1962 by Huey Long. Just four years later, in 1966, the headquarters was relocated to Grand Island, Nebraska. On June 1, 1994, Huey retired and transferred ownership to his son, Larry. Ambitious and driven, Larry focused on growth and expansion. Prior to his leadership, the Huey Long Company sold a wide range of products, including skylights, cabinets, hearths, garage doors, and Pella® Windows and Doors. Under Larry’s vision, the company soon specialized exclusively in Pella products, and for the past 30 years, we have proudly served as dedicated Pella Window and Door distributors.

In 1997, the company expanded into South Dakota, establishing a base in Rapid City. Two years later, in 1999, the Long family relocated to Rapid City, re-establishing company headquarters there while maintaining Grand Island as the Nebraska base of operations. Rapid City’s central location made it the ideal hub for managing what would become a three-state service region. Continued growth followed, and in 2002, the company expanded once again—this time into North Dakota, with a new base of operations in Bismarck.

After 47 years of dedicated service, Larry retired in 2017. By then, his stepsons, Jared and Shane Regelin, who had grown up in the business, were well prepared to continue the legacy. They officially took over ownership in 2017 and have successfully led the company since. Both born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, Shane settled in Rapid City in 1998 with his wife and two sons, while Jared moved to Rapid City in 2001, where he resides with his wife, son, and two daughters.

Today, Jared and Shane remain committed to the original mission: delivering the highest-quality Pella Windows and Doors, paired with exceptional customer service. Family-owned and operated since 1962, Heartland Pella is the trusted choice for Pella products across Western Nebraska, Western South Dakota, and Western North Dakota.
